About

Karen Hiatt is your best advocate when buying or selling your home. She attended her alma mater UCLA, to arm herself with the knowledge needed to enter a career in the residential real estate market.  She chose residential real estate because buying or selling your home is usually an emotional decision with hopes, dreams and a big investment.  She carefully chose Engel and Völkers Westlake Village, Calabasas and Channel Islands for its local presence, true global reach and a tool suite that allows her to create the best client experience possible.  She is both a tenacious and a creative negotiator with 25 years experience  negotiating multi million dollar contracts in the Semiconductor Industry with companies like IBM, Sandisk, Avnet, Arrow, and Jabil.

She keeps you informed. When difficulties arise she takes them in stride.  With a calm attitude she explains the different outcomes which allows you to make an informed decision.  Having moved 14 times in the last 25 years she understands buying, selling and leasing, first hand. What it is like to move within the same city or across the country or to another country, and still have to show up for work on the same day.  She does not disappear when the contract is signed and the keys are transferred to the new owners.  Whether it’s closing documents for a tax return, a local handyman or a wine cellar installer, Karen is just a phone call away.

In her personal time she can be found walking or inline skating around Westlake or Channel Islands with her Wheaten, Islay.  She likes to create:  making jewelry, recovering furniture, or making spectacular meals for friends.  She has traveled extensively throughout the world, speaks fluent French and has worked in, lived in, or visited all but five US states.  Her empathy and  business acumen allows clients to feel understood and inspires confidence that your home is being sold for the highest price possible. When searching for and purchasing the home that will be enjoyed for many years to come you will be happy to have her on your team.
